Donation of Face Shields Made from HIMILAN™ Resin to Local Governments and Medical Institutions

We would like to once again express our deepest gratitude and sympathy to all those who are working hard to prevent the spread of infections during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to this situation, we manufactured face shields utilizing HIMILAN resin and donated a total of 7,000, albeit a small amount, to local governments, medical institutions, schools and other organizations.

Donation Recipients

A total of 7,000 HIMILAN resin face shields were donated to the following eight recipient organizations.

(Reference) What is HIMILAN resin?

HIMILAN is an ionomer resin manufactured and sold by Dow-Mitsui Polychemicals based on technology from the Dow Chemical Company of the United States.

It is an ionomer made by cross-linking the molecules of ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer with metal ions, and has excellent transparency, toughness, abrasion resistance, oil resistance, and other properties.

Dow-Mitsui Polychemicals began manufacturing and selling ionomer resins under license from 1978 and has developed them under the HIMILAN brand.
